The Prodigal TJ, Part 2

Here's a look at some of the interior issues, beginning with the excellent WeatherTech floor liners. These really can't be beat, even though they're a little pricey (and these need a good wash down). I bought these for Christmas one year for my son; sort of like giving a gift to myself.

My son used to wear his keys on his belt - which ultimately destroyed the seat cover. So a while back I sprang for a set of Rugged Ridge seat covers. While they've held up pretty well, they could also use a good cleaning.

Those aren't grass clippings. It's shedding from a Great Dane / Pit Bull mix (not as big a dog as you might think).

Most of the original carpet has survived, except for this bit (which the Weathertech liner covers nicely).

The steering wheel cover has long-since disintegrated.

But most everything else is in good shape; just in need of cleaning.
(My son offered to detail this when he returned it. I told him not to bother.)

This is the passenger's side of the hood. Some bonehead sat on it, causing a considerable dip. I had it repaired maybe 12 years ago, but the metal has since stretched out. While it doesn't bother me too much, I may spring for a junkyard replacement if I ever decide to respray the Jeep.

Not much to say about the engine, except it's never given me too much trouble. It runs OK, but it too is showing its age.
